The Barn is now in use, and the official opening will be on May 10th.The Barn is now really under way having hosted its first major function. All the Village groups and clubs came and used the Barn to show their activities and well over 200 people visited the site. The evening event was an informal party and everyone enjoyed the facilities. The Dunster Scout Group will start to use the Barn later in February. The booking diary looks extremely healthy and the Management Committee are pleased with the response from local people. Come and join in! The chairs, tables cutlery and crockery have arrived and are neatly stowed ready for use. Although the contractor has handed over the Barn Keys he is busy finishing off the last few items and repairing the odd defects. The Somerset Council have started on the ground works to the West of the Barn and have uncovered a medieval wall which they think is part of the Priory and they found two glazed roof tiles that date back to the early 15C. This find has inevitably delayed completion of the drainage work but plans are in hand to preserve the discoveries and open up the area to the public.
